16 de July de 2020We all know that there is a huge fight between Apple and Android users, but it goes beyond the cellphone.Today we are going to talk more about Mac vs. Windows computers to help you choose the best for your life!
Mac vs. Windows
There are many qualities in both brands, Apple and Microsoft laptops. The computers in general have the same purposes: to serve our users needs like communication, work, spend free time, study, research and other purposes.
And to understand a little bit more about the brands, it’s pretty interesting to know more about their history.
When did they start?
Apple Mac Computers
On January 24, 1984 was built the first commercial computer, Macintosh, with a “Mac” System Software 1.0, and only 128 kb memory. In the same year, Apple launched a new version with a 512 kb memory.
Microsoft Windows Computers
Windows first computer project started in 1981, but it was only launched to the market in November 20, 1985. Windows 1.0 was its name, and it was the first computer to offer a graphic interface, not only text, with icons and windows. And now a days, Windows is the most used operational system used in the world.
Best performance: Mac vs. Microsoft
We know that the two brands are competitive, and both of them always shows us how great their performance can be.
To make a choice between Mac and Windows, you need to understand what you are looking for in a computer, and what do you need it for: professional use, leisure time, study, programming, or any other purpose.
Operating system MacOS vs. Windows
This is a new era of computers, we are always updating Operational Systems and finding out new computers updates for Mac and Microsoft, and it’s important to understand more about each one.
MacOS Pros
Apple products are developed for a specific system to block hackers, in a small form of great control, like “a system in the shape maze” making it harder to malware attacks or so. The operating system also has an integration with iOS equipment using a sidecar software that also use the old very good system iMessage and AirDrop.
So if you have an Iphone, for example, it’s way easier for you to connect it to a Mac than to a Windows computer.
If you are a photographer, publicitary, video maker or a web developer, for example, you might feel more productive with a Mac computer, since you are the main public for those products.
MacOS Cons
One of the main cons is the price of Apple products, they usually are more expensive than other brands.
And if you are not an iPhone user, you will find some compatibility issues, since Apple prioritizes the interaction between their equipments. And following this line, you can also realize that MacOS doesn’t has a huge number of apps options, like Windows does.
And although MacOS has a great performance for some heavy softwares, it’s not the favorite for gamers, since they can’t be very customized or upgraded, and as we said before, there as many games available as Windows does.
Windows Pros
For being the most used system in the world, it will be easier for you to connect your computer with different devices, and it will also allow you to build your own computer as you want to, specially if you are looking for a desktop.
You can get a specific computer for games, or spend less money on a simple notebook for daily basis. It’s also easier for you to transfer files to different devices, like your cellphone or another computer.
The system is also easier to install and have a huge number of softwares and programs that you can work on – from games to developing tools.
Windows Cons
When we talk about Windows cons, there are two important topics we need to know: Safety and Performance.
Unlike MacOS, Windows computers are usually more likely to get a virus or malware. And if you need to work with heavy softwares (video editing, programing…) you may feel your computer a little bit slow.
Most of people complain about the need to do a “Ctrl + Alt + Del” a couple times to close some programs or softwares because the computer freezes.
Mac Vs. Windows – Who Won?
Well, there is not quite a winner here. The best computer for you is the one that you can afford and will attend your needs. None of them is terrible or perfect, you will always need to consider both pros and cons before investing in a new computer.
You don’t need to spend a lot of money on a last generation MacOS if you only will use to check on your Facebook and work with some spreadsheets. But you may not feel satisfied getting a cheaper laptop that can’t run the softwares you need.
The best option is to compare not only the operational system, but the whole computer set – it’s hard drive, memory, processor, and other important items.
