Watching your favorite show on Netflix, Amazon or even Disney+ can be the highest point of your day, especially after a long work/study day. But the image doesn’t look so good, and it keeps freezing so you might be wondering “how much internet do I need for Netflix?” or even “is my streaming account with a problem?”.

Well, the most common answer is that the internet signal is not very good, so today we will tell you how much speed you actually need for good streaming.

How Much Internet Speed Do I Need For Netflix?

Let’s be short and clear: You need at least 3 Mbps – according to Netflix itself. But that’s only for standard-quality videos. If you have a plan with 4K or HD, you will need a stronger internet.

For a HD quality, the recommended internet speed is around 10 Mbps or more. And for 4K quality – prepare yourself and make sure you have a 25 Mbps internet speed, otherwise, you won’t get what you expect.

And another thing you need to take in consideration is: how many devices are connected to your internet and streaming? This will also influence the internet speed for Netflix and will probably make it slower.

And if you think that this is the same answer for different streamings – that’s not quite right.

How Much Internet Speed Do I Need For Amazon Prime?

For standard-quality videos on Amazon Prime, you will need only 900 Kbps, it’s quite less than Netflix, right?

And the same goes for HD quality – instead of 10 Mbps, you will only need a bandwidth of 3.5 Mpbs on Amazon Prime.

And if you are thinking that the trick comes in the Ultra HD quality, you are wrong! Even for the best of the best quality on Amazon, you won’t need as much internet speed as you need for Netflix.

For a Ultra HD quality on Amazon Prime, you “only” need 15 Mbps, instead of 25.

How Much Internet Speed Do I Need For Disney+?

Here what we have is almost the same needs of internet speed for Netflix:

For Disney+ deliver the best quality you will need 5Mbps (HD quality) and 25 Mbps (4K). It’s a lower requisition for HD quality – just a half of Netflix needs.

But here it is important to notice that their website doesn’t show options for standard-quality!

How Can I Know How Much Internet Speed I Have?

Well, you can run some free internet speed test in different websites, and if you realize that you have a lower speed than what you hired – make sure to understand why, since there are different reasons that can make your internet speed lower, for example:

Too many walls interrupting the signal

Weak routers that can’t deliver all of your signal

Distance from your router

And so many other things. And before going all the way to your internet company, you may try to extend the wifi signal, clear chrome browser’s cache (if you are using it to watch), learn how to choose routers that fits your needs and, as always – count on TechBrightSystems to help you with our Wifi Support Services!

There are so many technologies needed in our daily basis that sometimes it can be hard to distinguish each and every one of them. To help you, today we will talk about the modem vs. router theme and teach you what is the difference between them.

Modem vs. Router – What Is The Difference

Basically, the modem works like a doorway for the internet signal, while the router spreads its signal to different devices like your computer, tablet or smartphone.

But you can learn more about modem vs. router differences and understand better which one do you actually need.

Modem

A modem is an input and output device that is used to transfer data between devices through the telephone line.

It will work as a modulator to codify data information before its transmission, and it will also demodulate the data it receives by decodifying the signals and turning it back to a readable data.

The modem, by itself, won’t transmit the data or signal, it will only “translate” it before. And it can receive the signal through different ways like coaxial cable, fiber optic, etc.

Router

On the opposite side, we have the routers. Those are the ones that will transmit the message modulated by the modem.

They will send data packages between computers networks and will be responsible for the internet traffic. It’s by using a router that you are able to receive the internet signals from your modem.

Another important difference is the fact that the router will allow you have a wireless signal (wi-fi), meanwhile the modem will only make it possible for you to use the internet by using a cable connected to it.

Modem vs. Router – Which One Do You Need?

Usually, you will need both of them – but that doesn’t mean that you will have to have two different devices working in your room in order to get an internet signal.

Now a days there are a lot of different devices that unify the modem with the router, and by that you can modulate, demodulate, receive and transmit your internet signal by using only one device.

And if you are planning on install a new internet at your house or company, don’t forget to get a wifi planning service, so you won’t need to worry about how to extend wifi network after is all done and configured – and remember that you can always count on us to help you with wifi support!

Clearing the cache at your browser can be helpful in so many ways that you need to know how to do it. So today, we’ll teach you how to clear cache at chrome browser! Keep reading to find out how to do it in simple steps!

But first, let us tell you what is cache and why should you clean it from times to times.

What is cache?

Cache is a temporary file that browsers and devices save to make your experience better.

Those files can be pretty helpful sometimes, by making a website you already visited load faster or save your login infos into an app.

So, you may be thinking: if it makes me have a better experience, why should I clean it? Well, we will tell you right away!

Why should I clear my cache data?

The fact is that cleaning your cache can make your browser or device work better, since you will be freeing some space on it. So we always recommend you to clean your cache from times to times. This will help you save some internal space and make any device or browser work a little faster.

Another good thing to remember is that cleaning your cache will also avoid some loading issues you may find when a website is rebuilt, for example. This happens because you have old data stored in your cache and the website is trying to load it newest version.

And finally, you might be wondering:

How To Clear Cache At Chrome Browser?

We recommend you to use the Clear Cache Mode, a tool that will help you easily clear all the website links stored at your Google Chrome Browser in your computer or mobile device. By using it, you can also automate the process of having your cache cleared without having to worry about it.

All you need to do is follow these simple steps:

Open Google Chrome Browser;

Press “Ctrl + H” and this tab should be open:

Select “Clear Browsing Data”, on the left site;

You will notice that you can choose between Basic and Advanced, so we will explain each one for you:

Basic

You will clean the basic information that your device saved, such as:

Browsing history

Cookies and website data

Cached files and images

You can also choose the time range of the data you will exclude, from the last hour to all time.

Advanced

In advanced mode, you have more control about what you are deleting or not, such as:

Browsing history

Download history

Cookies and website data

Cached files and images

Passwords and signin data

Autofill data

Site settings

Hosted app data

But don’t worry, you don’t need to clean it all at once. You may choose only what isn’t necessary and keep the rest.

In this mode, you can also choose the time range – if you want to wipe down just the last hour data or all time data. It’s up to you!

Select which option fits best for you;

Select the files you want to delete;

Select on the right side below the option “Clear Data”

Wait for the cleanup to finish, close the window and open again.

With this you finish your cleanup section of “Clear Cache mode”.

If you have any issue by doing this, or maybe feel like it didn’t really helped you have a better experience with your device, remember you can always reach us with our Whatsapp or support page! We’ll be always glad to help you!

Imagining your data in a “cloud storage” still scares you? Not knowing exactly how a technology works, specially when you have important and confidential material involved in it, can make people feel unsafe.

But since technology isn’t stopping its development to wait for you, we are here to help by explaining today what is cloud storage, and why you can trust it – and make the better use for your company or personal data.

What Is Cloud Storage?

Cloud storage refers to an online space that is provided for you to save all your business or personal data in an online server that is always available. This mean that you won’t need to own a hard drive and carry with you to have access to your files.

This means that all your archives, data and files will be saved online, in a digital “cloud” that you can access from different equipments such as cellphones, desktop computers, laptops, iPads, etc.

Is Cloud Storage Safe For My Company Data And Files?

Yes!

All data that is stored in a cloud server is encrypted to make sure that only allowed people can have access to it.

You’ll be responsible for deciding how and with whom do you want to share each one of your files. For example: you can choose to share a specific folder with your comercial team, or just one spreadsheet.

Usually, you can also decide if they can edit, download or even comment each file. So a lower level employee can have access to see your monthly results report, without the risk of making any unwanted change.

Cloud Storage Benefits

Beyond the security that cloud storages offers to you, there are many other benefits that cloud storage can offer for your personal and business use. Let’s see some of them below:

More Practicality

With a cloud storage, all you need to access any of your stored data is a nice internet connection.

You won’t need to be carrying your laptop, flash drive or hard drive to every meeting you go just to open a report. You may use a local laptop, for example, and all your files will be in your hand.

Have you ever had any issue to use your wifi at home on your laptop, tablet, smartphone or any other device due to a low signal range? Today we will explain to you how to extend wifi network at home, your office or even to another building.

You will find the best solutions in this article, in the many topics below and understand the process of “extending the Wifi network” for different situations.

1. Extend Wifi Network At Home

Find The Best Location For Your Router

You need to understand the importance of placing your router in the right place – find a space in what would be the center of your home. This will allow the wifi signal to extend at all places in the house, in any direction.

But if you have a big house or there are many walls from the center of your home to your backyard, for example, you might need to use a repeater!

Using Repeaters To Extend Wifi Network

A repeater does exactly what it looks like, it takes the wifi network signal and repeat it – so it will go further than if you only use a router. This machine will receive the signal and restransmits it.

This device will help you to cover longer distance or be received on the other side of an obstruction – like a thick wall, for example. It’s a great and not expensive way to have a better wifi signal in your entire house.

2. Extend Wifi network in your office

The commercial and residential Wifi are very different and should be treated like that, since they have different plans of “speed internet” and number of users.

Remember that before to request a internet service provider you have to ask about the plan and how many users will be connected. So, with that in mind, the best and more secure way to extend wifi network at your office is using an access point.

Extend Your Wifi Signal With Access Points

An Access Point is a device that works like a repeater. You could ask why not use a regular repeater, well, that’s because they have a better support for a larger number of users and offer better signal.

They aren’t as cheap as a regular repeater, but they guarantee more safety, speed and potency for your workers and clients.

3. Extend Wifi network to another building

There are basically two different ways to extend wifi network to another building – using a wireless connection or using cables.

If you want a better performance, the cables are the best option, if the distance between them is more than 328 feet, you should choose Optical Fiber Cables to get a better result.

The biggest problem about extending wifi network to another building using cables is the amount of money that it requires.

If you don’t have the budget to do this kind of work, you can choose to extend using a Wireless Bridge Router, that will help you get the signal from a different building, but with less potency as you could have.

Remember To Use Good Configuration And Correct Equipments

If you don’t want to have security and configuration fails, you might want to ask for help to extend wifi network, specially if you are doing this at your office and don’t want to lose time (read: money) by trying to fix anything.

A good password, use the best equipment and understanding the location of each one are some important steps to get the best of your wifi network!

And it doesn’t matter if you need help with your wifi network, you can always count on Tech Bright Systems to help you!
